xiLinux Systems Inc. was founded in 2000 by two partners, Alex Kaydanov and Philip Post with one goal: to create a linux consulting company which will specialize in computer networking, computer consulting services, computer engineering, internet security and computer hardware . It will provide Linux services nationwide and to create linux workstations and linux servers that were as reliable as anything from IBM, SGI, DELL and HP.
But, instead of running mainframe level hardware with proprietary Unix, they ran on x86 architecture with a new open source operating system - Linux. |
